Old Fishergate House Our Location

Old Fishergate House is situated in North Castle Street just 50 metres from St Andrews Castle and close to the Cathedral which now unfortunately in ruins was the largest in Scotland when it was completed in 1318. Much of the stone used to build the house came from the cathedral.

The town centre is a few minutes walk away, as is the University, St Salvator’s Chapel, the picturesque harbour and a host of buildings of historical interest.

The famous Old Course, the Royal and Ancient Clubhouse and the British Golf Museum are within a 10 minute walk. The recently rebuilt Byre Theatre is only a couple of hundred metres away and stages some excellent productions.

The town still retains its medieval character, although as an internationally known golfing and university town it has a vibrant mix of students, golfers, visitors and residents.

St Andrews has a bus station whilst the main line rail station is at Leuchars a short bus/taxi ride from town.

The nearest International Airport is Edinburgh - 1 hr 15mins by car whilst Glasgow is a bit further about 2hrs by car.
